After 1893, after 1974, and again after 2011, the community was astounded that flood waters reached the levels they did. There were widespread misconceptions that a dam could ‘floodproof’ a city, and many thought a 1 in 100 year flood was exactly that.
Is there an easy way to retain awareness in the community about floods when we need it most: in the dry years before a big flood, not the months immediately following one?
Floods Happen uses automotive impact absorbing device adhesive technology (known in Queensland as bumper stickers) and typical Queensland laconism to keep alive the idea of floods in our community so that we continue to factor flood resilience into our decision making whether the weather is wet or dry.

Great idea.
Love it.
excellent!
Just make sure we have DROUGHTS HAPPEN one also
Or, “Welcome to Queensland, drought one day, flooded the next!”
… or maybe: “If you can read this sticker, you’ve still got time to grab the cat”
